The Bike Support Group has recently purchased 25 police mountain bicycles at a cost of $25,000. These new bicycles will replace an older fleet of bicycles currently in use by the downtown patrol and some Neighborhood Police Officers.
The Bike Support Group is funding a “Police Bicycle Crowd Control” training program on March 23-25, 2010. The program will be instructed by two world renowned police bicycle instructors from Calgary, Canada. This program will be another addition to the training repertoire many of the Fort Worth Police Bicycle Officers and NPO’s possess as they continue to demonstrate their “cutting edge” policing skills providing service to the Fort Worth community.
